And today we're gonna be talking about growth because I've been getting into some gardening lately. And I love it. I've always kind of had a green thumb, so to speak. But I love the process of growth. So for me gardening, and I love to be outside. So for me, it's a great hobby, because you could see the progress, right, you could see when plants grow, when the grass grows, things like that. So I also love it because as I'm doing this, it's kind of like a meditation in motion, right? When when you just get into the flow. And I'm able to identify so many parallels between growth with, you know, gardening and growth in business growth in life. And so I've kind of for the live this, this morning, have picked three very basic principles that I have experienced as parallels. And so again, if you're listening to grow in the chat, I want to know who you are. Welcome, my name is Sinead Moray. And if you don't know who I am, I'm the founder of growth Academy, and I help small business owners really build a personal brand on LinkedIn, increase their visibility, and build an inbound type of marketing strategy where your best clients are coming to you, if you're interested in that go to Euro dot club to learn more, but let's start. So this first principle, right that I've kind of witnessed is that you obviously have to have a vision, you don't just, you know, pick random plants or seeds and just throw them wherever you want on the ground, there really has to be a design a plan, you have to know what it is that you want. Same like in life, you don't just start doing random activities. If you want a desired outcome, you have to work on the right activities. So you have to have that vision. But there's also this innate trust in the process of growth. So it's very easy, right? When we plan to see and we have this innate understanding that if we plant this seed, if we give it what it means, you know, sun, fresh soil, you know, we nurture it, with time, the seed will sprout from the ground, and it's just gonna happen, we have this innate understanding for most of the seeds that that's going to happen. And if we do the right things, like I said, we have this innate understanding that growth is inevitable. So it's actually a formula, and it's a formula. And what is incredible is that there's a similar formula in business, in personal excellence in our life, you know, outside of gardening, but we don't give ourselves that grace. Right. So what's incredible is I see a lot of small business owners, they'll give something like a plant, or a baby grace when it comes to growth, right. But they fail to apply this same kind of innate predictability and principle with the right activities to their business, right to their personal growth. So almost like they are not part of this kind of thing. And if you can have a vision for something like a plant or a baby, you can have a vision for something like that. Give yourself that same grace, you can apply that growth vision to your life to your business, right. So we have to understand that, you know, we aren't special, if we do the right things, we will get certain outcomes. Or we will give ourselves the highest probability of receiving those outcomes, right? Growth is a formula, when you do the right things on the left side of the equation usually happens that on the right side is pretty predictable. All right. So that's the first thing. The second thing and if you're enjoying this, so far, put Yes, in the chat, I want some feedback. So a little creative. But it's been on my mind. And I've been kind of wondering how to bring this and bring the parallels between what I've been seeing to life. So the second thing is you have to prepare the environment. Before even planting the seeds. You don't just go into whatever garden you want to plant and just start sprinkling seeds everywhere, especially if there are currently weeds in that environment. Right. So a plant grass, whatever cannot grow if there's weeds in the environment, because what'll happen is like the roots of the weeds will actually steal all of the nutrients from the seeds that you're trying to have grown. And you know, what's interesting is that some of the weeds don't look like weeds. They actually look like other plants, but they're like, energy thieves right in disguise and they will still steal the energy, the nutrients that those seeds need to sprout and to grow. They'll still steal them. So what's what's interest thing is that, you know, the same kind of principles can be applied in our own lives and in our businesses, we all have certain weeds, so to speak, in our environment. And the point is that you have to clean up your environment for you to really get that type of compounding sustainable growth that maybe you're looking for. Sometimes, you may be doing the right things, but you may not be getting the results that you should be getting, because there's weeds in your environment, stealing those type of nutrients, so to speak, right. So this could be weeds in the form of people in your life that you're not setting boundaries with, or that you may need to create distance with. So be careful, you know, who you allow to have access to you, you have to start to value yourself enough to really put your energy and your time sometimes inaccessible to certain people, you have to protect that because nobody's going to refund your time, right, it's a limited resource, and you have to use it wisely. So habits, weeds could be in the form of habits that you currently have. And we all are imperfect. So we all have at least one habit, one thing that we're doing probably every single day, that is not not enabling us towards our goal, right. So think of every habit that you have is really an asset that's bringing you closer towards your goal, if it's if it's positive, if it's a weed type of habit, right, it's kind of a liability is pulling you away from the life you want the results that you want, so on and so forth. So try to identify that habit that's like, the weed in the garden that's stealing from your goals, right? So, so think of that. And then thoughts. Same thing with thoughts, you probably think thoughts every single day that are not necessarily enabling you, they're not assets or liabilities, or like those weeds in the garden, try to work on that. And if you find that you are stuck, if you find that you're not gaining traction, or even know how to start, find someone that can help you like invest in yourself, again, value yourself enough to find someone, join a group of people that are more, you know, more expert in that particular skill set that you can learn from so that you can start to get results faster. And of course, all of this is a process, but it's very important to be aware of the point is also that unless you are willing to dig deep, get your hands dirty, get uncomfortable, you know, and remove all of the weeds in your environment, not just on the surface, but at the root level, then it may seem like you cleaned up your environment. But maybe there's still those roots from those weeds in the ground. And they're still stealing that energy in the nutrients. Right. Same thing with gardening. A lot of people were like, oh, yeah, we cleaned up all the weeds. Why isn't this still growing? It's because they haven't cleaned them up at the root. And the roots are still stealing those nutrients, the roots from the weeds, right? Same thing in life, you may have thought that you clean up your environment, have thought that you worked on your mindset enough, have thought that you've worked on your habits enough. But you have to get uncomfortable, get your hands dirty, and start to really remove things at their root. And it's easier said than done. Right? If you're enjoying this put Yes, in the chat. I hope I'm doing a good job, right. So number three is that you have to plant the seeds in advance. And this is so important. So it is August 24. Today, Wednesday, we have roughly four months, four months left in 2022. And it just started like yesterday, right time flies when you're having a great time. So we're just four months away from 2023. And the seeds that you plant now in your business, right? What you do now will literally determine the experience that you have on January 1 will determine the momentum that you have starting the new year. Four months, I'm going to tell you this is enough time for you to make a lot of changes. I know people that get a year's worth of work done in four months just because they've optimized their habits. They've optimized their mindset. They're focusing on the right thing, savor remove those weeds, they have this vision, right. So what I don't want you to do is I mean, if you really want change by January, whether it's with your personal brand, your content, your business, whatever it is, it could be even your health. It doesn't matter. There's still enough time for you to gain serious traction and potentially have great results by January but you know you're running out of time at the same time. So if you don't start now, you're going to feel the negative consequences of not having started in time. So come January, if you don't do the work now, right? If you just coast through the rest of the year, I hope that you don't cry or complain in January, saying like, Oh, I don't know why this year starting so, so bad, or, you know, I feel, you know, last few days ago, or maybe you wait until January to start to take action. But the downside of that, right, is that if you only start to take action in January, you will start to gain traction or see results until March or April. So you're already in like, basically, q2, by the time that you start to get traction, and you've already lost 25% of 2023. This makes sense. This makes sense. But yes, in the chat, so, you know, you have to really decide what it is that you want. What type of life do you want to be living by January? What type of business do you want to be leaving? What type of personal brand do you want to have? And the people that are going to start 2023, four months away in January with momentum, right? They're going to be getting the results that they want, they know that now? Is it time to put their head down, right? Now is it time to do the work to get their hands dirty to plant those seeds to dig up those roots, all of that to nurture the soil, because they know that there's a lag time. And just because you don't see growth happening immediately doesn't mean that you know, all of those seeds are not going to sprout from the ground come January, it's inevitable if you do the right thing. So that's kind of what I wanted to communicate with you today, the difference between people that will be getting those results and people that don't, or that they have their vision, they know that they have to dig deep, and you know, remove those roots, they're planting the seeds and nurturing them day after day, which is why come January 2023, they will have and start the new year with a tremendous amount of momentum, giving them an advantage over those who don't write because they'll break through the New Year. And then they'll momentum will be on their side because they're creating it now. Momentum doesn't happen magically. You have to do the work to create it. If you wait until January to do that work. You won't get it until March or April. And that's a guarantee. So if you want to start the new year with that competitive advantage, start taking action now. Right and so you really have to decide what type of person do you want to be what type of results and do you want that momentum on your side in January and I hope this helped. I know that this was like a short live and it was really just kind of random but not so random at all. I hope that you resonated with it if you want one of those results to be growing your personal brand, then go to you grow dot club, and I will see you at the next masterclass Ciao
